Aftercare is the most important part of your procedure, and once you’ve left the shop we trust that you will follow our general advice on what is best for your new addition. There are plenty of methods that have been passed down over the generations using their Granny’s secret recipe, but we would always advise taking our professional, tried and tested advice, for the best possible healing.
To make life even easier for our clients, we have put together individual aftercare packs containing all our recommended aftercare products, including the necessary wipes and applicators to help you follow the specific aftercare steps. These are available to purchase at the studio.
Tattoo Aftercare
Remove the initial covering after the time recommended to you by your tattoo artist
Gently wash the tattooed area with warm soapy water and rinse well. It’s important to use a soap that’s safe for use on your broken skin. Let the skin dry or carefully pat dry with paper towel
Apply a thin and even layer of our recommended aftercare onto your tattoo and massage into the skin
Repeat this process 3 – 4 times a day for the first few weeks. It’s important to always wash the tattoo before applying a new layer of aftercare. Clean it – Cream it
Things to avoid
DO NOT PICK OR SCRATCH YOUR TATTOO
DO NOT SOAK YOUR TATTOO IN WATER
REFRAIN FROM APPLYING TOO MUCH CREAM
AVOID DIRECT SUNLIGHT AND TIGHT CLOTHING
As a team we strive to use the best quality products available to us. We use the Butterluxe range before, during, and we always recommend after too! Feels Good, Smells Good and the healed results are clear to see.
Piercing Aftercare
Use a clean and disposable cotton bud, saturated with sterile saline, to remove any dried fluid/blood from the initial piercing.
Treat the piercing site with a drop of our recommended aftercare solution. This will provide the area with essential oils and vitamins to promote a better healing environment
We advise following this process four times a day until the piercing has healed and shows no signs of irritation. Healing time differs between piercings. Your piercer will advise on the general healing time of each placement
Things to avoid
AVOID CONTACT WITH SHAMPOOS AND BODY WASHES, CHLORINE/SWIMMING ETC.
DO NOT TWIST OR TURN THE PIERCING DURING THE HEALING PROCESS
AVOID MAKING YOUR OWN SALT WATER SOLUTION AS IT COULD IRRITATE THE PIERCING
